Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
When I learned that early day in November of the passage of the first vote to stop international adoptions my heart sank and then instantly the scripture above came to mind. As much as my instant and human response was to be concerned, there was an unexplainable peace. God reminded me that this was His call…to His kids…and He could handle this.
The vote was never taken yesterday. As best we can learn, it was never discussed, the formal report of the day’s proceedings says, “Moved”, but no new date is given. Adoptions continue as usual. 🙂 God promises to place the fatherless in families…He always keeps His promises.
Our facilitator contacted us late Monday night, very early Tuesday morning there, to let us know she was to be at the government office in one hour to make our dossier submission appointment. Wow!! That made all these months of waiting so REAL!!
Our dossier is scheduled to be submitted on February 15, 2011. In the coming week we will be collecting, notarizing, apostilling and shipping the last of our documents to her for translation.
For those of you who have never walked this journey, soon we will post International Adoption 101. Like everything else it has its own language. It is a multi-step process that requires approval on the US side followed by approval by their government. Our approval from the US is complete and all required documents have been received. More details on this soon…
Many, many thanks for your prayers for us…please keep them coming, we covet each one. Please also pray for families to be willing to answer God’s call to the 147 million orphans around the world who wait for the love of an earthly father and mother that will lead them to their Heavenly Father.
