Greetings from Kiev!!

Hello!!  We finally have internet, so sorry for the long delay in posting and thank you for the many notes of encouragement and prayers.

Our trip on Sunday/Monday was perfect, beautiful weather and no delays.  We arrived in Kiev at 1:10 pm to a beautiful sunny day.

Our SDA appointment was today at noon and all went well.  The lady was so kind and thanked us for adopting these children as they have so little chance for adoption as older children.

We took the referral for the little guy so many of you have been praying for.  As we drove away from our appointment our facilitator received a phone call from the facilitator in the region…our little fellow was out yesterday and was hit by a car.  He has a broken leg.  Reports are that he has been treated and is doing well and called our facilitator himself to let her know.  He was very distraught that we would not come for him now.   Of course we will and likely by the time this process is completed his leg will have healed.  Poor little guy, paralysis from Guillain Barre’ and now this…but the good news is he was obviously mobile and out for this to happen so the many prayers for his paralysis have been answered.

We will post again tomorrow if at all possible.  We pick up our referral paperwork between 4 and 5 tomorrow afternoon and then travel to the region tomorrow night.  We will meet him on Friday and his sisters on the weekend.

Many thanks for the prayers…keep them coming and we will do all possible to keep you updated!!  God Bless!!  We love you all…

Hooray! So happy to hear how things are going so far (and I may or may not have imagined all sorts of things that could have gone wrong…).

I’m glad SDA went well and that you are on the road toward actually seeing the kids in real life. 🙂 What an event that will be!

I’m sorry about the little guy and the broken leg!

And remember, no matter what, if you take the train tomorrow night, put the wool blanket over the heating vent.

Can’t wait to hear the next steps!

    Praying for you every day.

I am so sorry about Amir(not sure of the spelling). Was already praying for him and his sisters. Now will double them for him. So glad you are seeing him tomorrow. Know he needs that reassurance. I can only imagine how distraught he is. We can see God working in all this. He put you there for Amir at this moment when he so needs your love and support. Give him a hug for me. I, too, am praying for your visits this weekend.

Been a while since you posted-I know-it can be tough doing what we consider to be simple things like internet access and time to do it. I fly back on Sunday to finish up. We’ve been thinking about you two and your situation. Hope to hear from you guys.

    Matt
