Hope

This morning we awoke to an email from dear friends at our church who have walked every step of this journey from day one with us.  They said:

GOD is about to do something miraculous and will continue to lead and guide both of you as HIS plan unfolds. Though I have no idea what it is Psalm 9:10 says”…and those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.
We continue to seek the LORD on your behalf and the children’s behalf as well.

That will likely prove to be prophecy.

Yesterday contact was made with an attorney who agreed to take our case.  Today we met  at noon and she called us a short time later to share that she had wonderful news!!

The judge is supportive of our case and agreed for our dossier to be pulled from the file to be submitted to the SDA for the referral for the fourth boy.  Likely our appointment for that referral will be early next week so we will return to Kiev Sunday or Monday for two to three days.

This additional child’s paperwork will not be completed in time for the originally scheduled court date of May 20th so the judge offered a new court date of May 27 for all four children.

We will be up early tomorrow to meet a taxi to the notary’s office to complete the required petition to request our third referral appointment.

If all goes as expected we will likely be here four more weeks and return home the middle of June.

Our friends’ email concluded with this verse…it says it all.

Philippians 4:19…And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

    Marie–
I have read all posts intently and have been praying for your return with your new “brood”! Very exciting and humbling–what a task you have chosen–or God chose for you. Being adopted, I know the joy that the children will have to be called yours! While I remember nothing before I was adopted, they will. They will have an appreciation for you and this great country that all of us take for granted.

God bless your journey…a celebration in mid-June!!

      Shannon,
I have had a heart for adoption since I was a young child because of the many friends I had at Third Baptist who were adopted. I remember thinking at a very young age that it was the most wonderful thing anyone could do to give a child without one a home and family. I appreciate more than I can express your parents and all the other adoptive families who modeled God’s passion for the orphan. We cannot wait to truly become a family in a few weeks. God is so good!! Our minister said in a sermon a few months before we left home that God will call you to something totally unexpected and then make it your passion. We nearly leapt from the pew to shout amen!! These kids are our passion…from the bottom of our hearts. Thanks for following the journey and praying with us. We appreciate it so much.

I have chills all over after reading your post! God is so good. I love how God works through His children–the body of Christ all over the world. We continue to pray and are amazed at your patience, tenacity, faith and peace in the midst of so many unknown details. God is truly at work and you are so wise to be so aware of Him around every corner. We love you all and look forward to see how the rest of the story unfolds!
