God fought looooong and hard to free these 4 amazing young people but today He won the biggest battle of the war. Our court went well and the adoption of all four was granted.
Meet the newest Long’s…
Nicole Xenya, Pavlina Alisa, Alex Stone and Vanya Philip
They each had to step to a podium face to face with the judge and answer several questions. We were so proud of each of them. They all did great and were so confident in their decision. We were so appreciative that the judge was gentle and kind to them. It was a long process of over 2 hours of waiting for a paper to be faxed from Kiev and then the over one hour court proceeding so we were all drained, but so happy!!
We enjoyed celebrating at our favorite pizza place and then stopping by a market for ice cream treats on our walk back. These four are a puzzle perfectly fit together by God, it is amazing how He orchestrated this for nearly two years to this perfect end.
Today is a busy one but I will write a post soon with the details of our court proceeding for those who follow in this journey.
To each of you who have prayed, emailed, commented, loved on us, cared for things at home, and so much more, we love you and are all so grateful for your love. As Sasha said about Grandmommy last night on skype, “I think she is ready to be able to touch us.” Yes!!, she and we agreed enthusiastically. We are all ready to get home to lots of hugs and the end of saying goodbye each day and the beginning of being a family 24/7/365.
Tomorrow will be 11 weeks since we boarded that plane in Louisville full of anticipation but so aware that this was not about us and so much bigger than we could imagine. It has been the journey of a lifetime. We’ve seen God work beyond anything we could ask or imagine in so many ways. Our deep relationships with our new friends at DCU will impact us for life.
Our dear friend leaves early Tuesday morning for Russia…he is rejoicing with us at God’s miracle in our adoption and we are praying together without ceasing for what God is going to do in his new ministry. It is amazing to walk these two journeys together, different calls from God but so similar with the common bond of the unknown and walking in faith along the razor sharp edge of a cliff for so long. It has forged a bond we will share into eternity.
We have a 10 day wait, then 3-4 days getting new birth certificates, tax ID numbers and passports. Then we travel to Kiev for two days of meetings at the US Embassy for their visas and a medical exam for each of them. If all goes according to schedule, which you have likely figured out by now does not exist, Lord willing, 3 weeks from today we’ll be on our way home with two full rows on that airplane.
To God Be the Glory, great things He has done!!!!!!
